Dara Singh

Dara Singh is a multimedia artist based in Ontario. Her work features watercolour and ink illustrations alongside mixed media paintings: incorporating textile elements, expressive mark-making, and vibrant, largely unmixed paint, resulting in a visually tactile effect. Singh is in dialogue with the surfaces she starts with: her drawing process is fast, intuitive, and focused on a sort of call-and-response to the medium. Her works’ subjects emerge directly as playful responses to the physicality of the mediums used. Additionally, she draws inspiration from dreams, as well as the characters and stories she creates.
